This is a relaxed boat ride through ancient mangrove tunnels. You will visit a Cinnamon Island to see traditional peeling, stop at a Buddhist temple on a small islet, and can enjoy a natural fish spa where small fish gently exfoliate your feet in a river deck.

The peak season is from November to April. During these months, the sea is calmest and sightings of Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, and Dolphins are very frequent (over 90% success rate).

he Indian Ocean can have a swell even on clear days. We strongly recommend taking motion sickness medication (like Avomine) at least 1 hour before boarding the whale watching boat. It is also best to sit in the middle or back of the boat where the movement is less intense.

Yes. Turtle hatcheries in Bentota and Kosgoda operate all year. In Hikkaduwa, you can often see wild Green Turtles swimming near the shore in the late afternoons, though sightings depend on the tide and sea conditions.

A standard walking tour takes about 2–3 hours. We recommend doing this in the late afternoon (around 4:00 PM) to avoid the heat and to catch the stunning sunset from the fort ramparts near the lighthouse.

Yes. When visiting Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo or the Japanese Peace Pagoda, you must cover your shoulders and knees. You will also need to remove your shoes and hat before entering the sacred areas.

  • Choose Yala if you want the thrill of searching for the Sri Lankan Leopard and sloth bears. It has a more diverse landscape but can be busier.

  • Choose Udawalawe if your priority is seeing large herds of wild elephants. It is generally less crowded and offers guaranteed sightings of elephants in open grasslands.

     

 

The trails can be very dusty. We recommend bringing a light scarf or mask to cover your face, sunglasses, a hat, and plenty of sunscreen. Neutral-colored clothing is best to blend into the environment.
